Command Line Upgrades not successful from 8.x to 8.2 SR2

Iron Mountain Digital has identified a problem involving the command line upgrade process when upgrading from Connected Backup 8.x to Connected Backup 8.2 Service Release 2 (SR2).  The following behaviors are seen:

  • Upgrade is successful but with an incorrect account number (all zeros)
  • Upgrade is successful but creates a new account
  • Upgrade Fails with no warning

Iron Mountain Digital is attempting to determine a resolution to this issue. Iron Mountain suggests using the Central Administration functionality in Support Center or Account Management to upgrade accounts from 8.x versions to 8.2 SR2. To upgrade your 8.x accounts to 8.2 SR2, complete the following steps:

  1. In Support Center, select the community name for that account.
  2. Select Configurations to display the Configurations Summary pane.
  3. Select Use Central Administration to upgrade Agent versions checkbox.
  4. Select Save and Deploy.

The Agent Configurations in use can be modified to use the 8.2 SR2 Agent Version, and the upgrade will automatically occur for your users during the next backup.
