This document includes a procedure to enable the Data Center server to use Domain Name Service (DNS).

Procedure

  1. Add an entry to the DNS server for the Data Center server's IP address.

  2. Configure the Data Center server to use DNS. Use the following steps to achieve this:

  1. Open DCMC.

  2. Right-click the name of Data Center server in the console tree and select Properties.

  3. In the Backup Server tab, select the server's entry in the Connection Information section and click Edit.

  4. In the Server Interface window, enter the DNS information in the Fully Qualified Domain Name field.

  5. Click OK to apply the change.

  1. Repeat the steps for each server in your Data Center configuration.

If you have deployed Agents that connect to the updated server(s), these Agents are automatically updated with the configuration change the next time they connect to the server.
