This document describes moving a version 6.1 - 7.5 PC Agent account to a different computer.
Description of the Problem
If a user's computer is replaced by another computer, you can transfer the user's account to the new computer. This transfer provides access to all of the data previously backed up from the prior machine.
Note: If Full System Backup is in use, this procedure should NOT be used to move the account to a different operating system (for example, to go from Windows 95 to Windows NT). With Full System Backup, it is recommended that the user start a new account for the new computer if changing operating systems.
Procedure
- Remember that a backup account must only be used on one computer at a time. We recommend removing the Agent from the old machine using Start → Settings → Control Panel → Add/Remove Programs.
- Follow the procedures for Recovering an Account.
