Version 8.5.1 of Connected®Backup is now available for download.

Version 8.5.1 of Connected Backup includes the following items:

  • Connected Backup for Mac® Agents can back up and retrieve Microsoft® Office® 2011 files, including Microsoft Outlook® 2011 email files.
  • Connected Backup for PC Agents can back up and retrieve IBM® Lotus Notes® 8.5.2 email files using Connected EmailOptimizer®.

Version 8.5.1 of Connected Backup is an Agent-only release that consists of updated Agents for the Windows® and Mac operating systems.

This version includes the following new Supervision Service features:

  • Support for up to 50 email identifiers.
  • Highlighting of the email identifier that causes the Supervision Service to flag an email for review.

Version 8.5.0.2 of Connected® Backup is now available for download.

This version resolves an issue where a Compactor service thread stops processing accounts when checking dependencies. (CB-33618)

Version 8.5.0.2 of Connected Backup is an updated Compactor service. To install it, you need a version 8.5.0.1 Data Center.

Version 8.5.0.1 of Connected Backup is now available for download.

Version 8.5.0.1 of Connected Backup replaces version 8.5 of Connected Backup on the Digital Resource Center. It includes the following items:

  • When you retired a volume in the Data Center, and you then used DataCopier to move the archives off the retired volume, if DataCopier failed to copy an archive from that volume, the DataCopier log did not record the failure. Instead, the DCMaint log captured the failure, but then erroneously marked the copy successful. This issue has been fixed.
  • In the Support Center, when the Compactor service deletes a canceled account, Connected Backup fails to update the AccountSize table. This issue has been fixed.
  • The media order pages in the Support Center and the Account Management Website contain more information to assist with the media order process.

Version 8.5.0.1 of Connected Backup is a full release that consists of an updated Data Center and version 8.5 Agents for the Windows® and Mac® operating systems.

Subject: Connected Backup Version 8.4.0.12 Available for Download

Version 8.4.0.12 of Connected Backup has been released and is available for download.

What does this notification mean?

Connected Backup version 8.4.0.12 addresses the following issue with DataCopier:

When you retire a volume in your Data Center, and you use DataCopier to move the archives off of the retired volume, if there was a failure to copy an archive from that volume, that failure is not captured in the DataCopier log. The failure is captured in the DCMaint log, and the file copy is erroneously marked ‘successful.’

This product release consists of a replacement for the DataCopier application on a version 8.4.0.6 or later Data Center.  For more information about version 8.4.0.12 of Connected Backup, see the ReadMe.pdf included with the release.

Iron Mountain has released version 8.5 of Connected Backup, and it is available for download.

 

What does this notification mean?

Version 8.5 of Connected Backup incorporates the features in previous versions of Connected Backup, including the following items:

  • Microsoft® Outlook® 2010 (32-bit and 64-bit) support for Connected EmailOptimizer®
  • Lotus Notes® 8.5.1 support for Connected EmailOptimizer
  • 64-bit Data Center support (with Microsoft Windows® Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft SQL Server® 2008 R2)

Connected Backup version 8.5 is a full release comprised of an updated Data Center and updated Agents for the Windows and Mac® operating systems.

In order to migrate your Data Center from a 32-bit Windows Server® to a 64-bit Windows Server, please contact Support for additional information regarding the migration process.

Note: Migration services will be available on December 17, 2010.

Subject: Connected Backup Version 8.4.0.11 Released


Dear Connected® Backup Administrator:

Version 8.4.0.11 of Connected Backup is now available. We will be installing it on the subscription server clusters.
 
What does this notification mean?

On September 22, 2010, Iron Mountain® sent a notification email stating that version 8.4.0.10 would not available on the subscription server clusters, and that version 8.4.0.11 would replace it.
 
Connected Backup version 8.4.0.11 contains all of the features of version 8.4.0.10.  It also addresses issues that involve problems retrieving files from ordered media.
 
Connected Backup version 8.4.0.10 addressed the following issues:
 

  • New feature – Agent can obtain IBM® Lotus Notes® user ID from the Windows® registry during a backup using EmailOptimizer® without the user being prompted for the information.
  • Agent prompts the user to type a password for certain Microsoft® Outlook® PST files without a password during a backup using EmailOptimizer.

This product release is an Agent-only release. We will add the version 8.4.0.11 Agent to all subscription server clusters by October 4, 2010.

None.  Though no action is required, we recommend that you upgrade your Connected Backup Agents to version 8.4.0.11 to give your users the most recent and robust version of the product.
