The energy grid is no longer a simple plug-and-play connection. 🔌

As digital infrastructure booms, balancing rapid AI and cloud development with environmental responsibility requires a fundamental shift. We can't just consume energy anymore—we have to help manage it.

That’s why Iron Mountain Data Centers has signed the Declaration of Support for sustainable data center integration in the EU and supports the signing of the Declaration of Intent by The European Data Centre Association - EUDCA.

Developed by the European Commission, this initiative brings together data centers, grid operators, and local authorities to integrate digital infrastructure into the EU energy system more sustainably.

🌍 What this means for the future of the grid:
• We’re becoming active grid partners. Shifting from passive power consumers to active participants that help balance and strengthen local energy grids.
• We’re shaping future policy. Working alongside the EUDCA to define the shared principles and regulatory models that will guide our industry forward.
• We’re building unified infrastructure. Collectively tackling grid flexibility and storage to ensure Europe’s digital growth supports its green transition—without straining local resources.
The future of digital growth relies on energy collaboration.
